After seeing the Washington Capitals' call for artwork submissions, I decided to create a unique illustration to enter. Inspired by the Capitals' alternative logo (the 'weagle') and the city of D.C. itself, I used the team's brand colors to create illustration featuring a bald eagle snapping a stick in half with hidden references to the NHL club and the district. I was selected as part of the top four designs by the Washington Capitals and ultimately won through the fan vote. On March 1, 2024 my design was printed on 20,000 rally towels and laid over every seat in Capital One Arena as a free give away for that evenings game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
